We're on the hunt for a company Financial Controller who will be responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations in the company. You will oversee all accounting, manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, compliance and financial regulations.

What we're looking for in the role!

As the Financial Controller at Good Pair Days, you will be the sole authority managing our financial operations with some administrative support. This role requires a meticulous and self-driven professional who can handle all financial reporting, payroll, and compliance activities independently, ensuring our financial health and compliance across operations in Australia and the UK. Whilst this is a remote role, the preference is for someone Sydney based so you can catch-up face to face with core team management every now and then.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, offering critical financial insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage all tax-related obligations including PAYG, superannuation, and other statutory requirements in Australia and the UK.
  • Cash Management: Handle cash flow planning and manage bank balances and financial investments.
  • Payroll Management: Administer payroll for all employees in Australia and the UK, ensuring accurate and timely processing, including PAYG and superannuation contributions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external auditors and financial institutions to support financial activities.
  • Strategic Input: Provide financial insights that assist in strategic decision-making at the executive level.

Qualifications:

We're seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or similar certification highly regarded.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial management, with substantial expertise in financial reporting, tax planning, and payroll management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian payroll systems and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, databases, and system. Knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Sharp attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to manage teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
