Bavette Steaks with Mushrooms
- 2 bavette steaks
- 1 tsp porcini powder
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
- 200g mixed wild mushrooms
- 2 sliced garlic cloves
- Rub the steaks with 1 tsp of oil and the porcini powder, as well as some seasoning. Set aside for 10 mins. When ready, sear the steaks for 2 mins on each side. Add half the butter to the pan for the last 30 seconds and baste the meat thoroughly, then lift the steaks to a plate, splash with the soya sauce, and leave to rest.
- Add the remaining oil and butter to the pan and toss in the garlic and mushrooms. Season and fry for 2 mins, then serve with the sliced steaks, the resting juices, and some mashed potato.
