Beef and Shiitake Stir Fry Recipe
What you'll need:
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 300g beef shoulder (or similar), thinly sliced
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 10g ginger, grated
- 100g cabbage, shredded
- 100g shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 50g red onion, sliced
- 50g mangetout
- 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 lime, juice only
- Salt or soy sauce to taste
Time: 20 mins
Serves: 4
Method
First
Heat up the sesame oil in a wok or large frying pan. Chuck in the sliced beef, and get it nicely coloured on all sides for 2-3 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir well. Add the veg, and continue to stir fry until the beef is cooked to your liking.
Second
As soon as the beef is done, add the lime juice, the sesame seeds, and the 5 spice, and remove from the heat. Season well with salt or soy sauce, and serve hot.
