Beef with Wine and Cranberries
- 1kg braising steak, chopped into chunks
- 2 tbsp seasoned flour
- 2 tbsp oil
- 300ml red wine
- 300ml beef stock
- 4 tbsp cranberry sauce
- 3 onions, thinly sliced
- Mash, to serve
- Coat the beef in seasoned flour. Heat up 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, then fry the beef on all sides until browned all over. Remove to a plate and set aside. Add the onions to the pan and fry for 5 mins, or until golden. Return the beef to the pan, and pour in the stock and wine. Bring to the boil, deglazing the pan as you go, and season well.
- Reduce the heat and cover with the lid. Simmer for 90 mins, or until the beef is falling apart. Stir in the cranberry sauce, season again to taste, then simmer for 5 mins more. Serve with mash, and enjoy.
