Breaded Cheese with Berry Compote
- Oil for deep frying
- 150g Cheese (Cheddar or Wensleydale are best) cut into triangles
- 100g dried breadcrumbs
- 1 beaten egg
- Berry compote and salads for serving
- Heat up the oil for deep frying in a wok, saucepan, or deep frying pan. Dip your cheese triangles in the beaten egg, then dredge in the breadcrumbs until completely covered.
- Carefully plonk your cheese into the oil, and fry for 3 minutes or until crisp and golden. Drain on kitchen paper, and serve hot with fresh salads and your berry compote.
