Broccoli and Sesame Paneer
- 200g tenderstem broccoli spears
- 1 tbsp oil
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 1 green chilli, chopped
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- 6 curry leaves
- 1 onion, sliced
- 140g paneer, cut into strips
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- ½ tsp ground mace
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Steam the broccoli for 5 mins until tender but with a bite. Drain, and set aside. Heat the oil in a wok, add the cumin seeds, asafoetida, sesame and mustard seeds, chilli, and curry leaves. Cook for 1 min, then add the onion and cook for 2 mins more.
- Toss in the paneer strips, garlic, and ginger, and season well. Cook for 5 mins or until the paneer is golden, then add the cooked broccoli and mix through the spices and paneer. Add the lemon juice and mace, a twist of pepper, and serve.
