Bulgogi Burgers

  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 500g beef mince
  • 50g fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • A good grind of black pepper
  • Burger buns and pickles, to serve
  • Make the burgers by whisking together the soy sauce and sugar until dissolved, then adding the mince, breadcrumbs, garlic, ginger, gochujang, sesame seeds and pepper and mixing well. Divide the mixture into 4 and shape into patties, then leave to firm up in the fridge for 30 mins.
  • When ready, rub the patties with a little oil and fry for 6 mins on each side or until cooked through. Serve in warmed buns with pickles, slaw and anything else you fancy.
