Chinese Pork with Peanut Salsa

  • 1.5 tbsp oil
  • 2 sliced garlic cloves
  • 10g ginger, cut into matchsticks
  • 1 chopped red chilli
  • ½ tsp honey
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 pork shoulder steaks
  • 30g roasted peanuts, chopped
  • ¼ chinese leaf, shredded
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 10g chopped chives
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Make the peanut salsa by frying the garlic, chilli and ginger in 1 tbsp of oil until crisp. Pour into a bowl and stir in the soy sauce, honey and peanuts, then set aside.
  • Heat the remaining oil in the pan and season the pork well. Fry the pork steaks for 7 mins on each side or until cooked through, then leave to rest on a plate. Meanwhile, mix the Chinese leaf, chives and carrot in a bowl with the sesame seeds and sesame oil. Serve alongside the pork steaks with plenty of the salsa - delicious!
