Chinese Pork with Peanut Salsa
- 1.5 tbsp oil
- 2 sliced garlic cloves
- 10g ginger, cut into matchsticks
- 1 chopped red chilli
- ½ tsp honey
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 pork shoulder steaks
- 30g roasted peanuts, chopped
- ¼ chinese leaf, shredded
- 1 grated carrot
- 10g chopped chives
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Make the peanut salsa by frying the garlic, chilli and ginger in 1 tbsp of oil until crisp. Pour into a bowl and stir in the soy sauce, honey and peanuts, then set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the pan and season the pork well. Fry the pork steaks for 7 mins on each side or until cooked through, then leave to rest on a plate. Meanwhile, mix the Chinese leaf, chives and carrot in a bowl with the sesame seeds and sesame oil. Serve alongside the pork steaks with plenty of the salsa - delicious!
