Crab and Beetroot Cakes

  • 350g white crabmeat
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp grated garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • 4 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 50g grated beetroot
  • 4 tsp flour
  • 4 tsp desiccated coconut
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds
  • Salad, to serve
  • Mix all the ingredients, apart from the salad and the oil, in a bowl with your hands. Form into small patties, then fry in the oil for 3 mins on each side.
  • Remove the patties from the pan and drain on kitchen paper for a minute or too, then drizzle with some sesame oil and serve with green leafy salad. Perfect!
