The perfect role for an operations person wanting to take the next step. Or a recent graduate wanting to get in on the ground floor and learn.
SETTING THE SCENE!
We are a Sydney based, early stage wine startup with the mission to take the intimidation and confusion out of learning, exploring and most importantly drinking delicious bottles of wine. We are building a wine brand that is simultaneously remarkable yet inclusive, and it’s our mission to provide our customers with access to a world of wine that may just have been a little beyond their comfort zone.
We like to think of ourselves as providing monthly wine adventures, customised to each member's unique tastes, delivered to their door. Where they can learn as much (or as little) about their wines each month as they like. Take the quiz and check it all out here. We're about three years old, and we've just started to hit our stride. If this sounds good so far? Great! Keep reading...
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
Someone who will take a great deal of pride in running a tight ship. And by ship we mean warehouse. Someone that's going to pack a mean box of wine, and do it efficiently because you'll have lots going out everyday. But also pack with love, because they know that each box is super important to all our customers, and customer experience is the foundation of what our brand is built on.
Specifically, you'll need to first and foremost lead a team of 10-20 pick packers! You'll need to run their day-to-day tasks efficiently and always be focussed on optimising. You'll also need to be able to learn our back-end order system, create boxes, pack wine, write gift notes, receive stock, do stock takes, replenish stock, keep track of incoming orders and invoices, organise our supplies, help manage the warehouse, help with customer service, build relationships with our drivers and suppliers and most importantly work really well with the team.
You need to be organised, detail oriented, or preferably detailed obsessed! For instance, we love it when people address their applications email to: 'Good Pair Days HQ'. Most importantly you'll be someone with grit, who can work hard and fast and handle long hours when occasionally needed. Expect to be pushed!
But for the right person who's going to take pride in their efficiency, enjoys hard work and gets a lot out of being super organised, we think it could be a great role with a lot of room to grow.
You'll be the first point of contact with our customers, and we take that very seriously. So you'll be an extremely valuable member of the team. Lastly for the right person there's opportunity to build their own packing team as we grow.
YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:
- Have a logical and organised mind;
- Have previously led a team of 10-20 people;
- Have a growth mindset with an eagerness to learn;
- Can jump in and get your hands dirty in many different areas even if you have not worked with them before;
- Are a self-starter: deciding what to work on + getting things done + managing yourself.
- Bonus points for a technical qualification, degree or completed training program;
- Bonus points if you have a forklift licence but not essential.
HOW YOU'LL BE MEASURED.
Packing speed. Completion of warehouse processes. On time dispatches and other warehouse specific KPIs.
WHAT YOUR FIRST THREE MONTHS WILL LOOK LIKE.
Week 1: Learn how all the on the floor packing processes work.
Month 2: Be comfortable running all back-end systems. Do your forklift training if not already completed.
Month 2: Be in charge of team resources planning.
Month 3: Be across all operational tasks and take charge for hitting our warehouse KPIs.
SO WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Comp is negotiable for the right person. And of course, there's a free monthly wine subscription with your name on it!
You'll also get the chance to progress your career in whatever direction you fancy in a fast growing startup with lots of opportunities for growth and support available for the further training and education.
OKAY, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO TO APPLY?
If you're interested please send through your CV and cover letter through to: firstname.lastname@example.org including the following info: One reason why you think KPIs are important. Two reasons why you wish to work with our company. One previous job or project you've completed which have helped you develop the skills necessary for this job. Two reasons why you like operating off checklists and procedures and what you believe the benefits are.
Thank you for you time and I know the right applicant will really like this job and growing with us.
