Korean Braised Tofu

  • 400g firm tofu, sliced and patted dry
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp crushed ginger
  • 2 chopped spring onions
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and place the tofu slices in one layer, then cook for 5 mins on each side, or until golden. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl, then pour all over the fried tofu and leave to braise for 3-4 mins. Serve as a starter or as part of a Korean feast!
