The incredible Kelly, is one our ‘Lead Elves’ running the warehouse operations in the ‘North Pole of the Southern hemisphere’ - in Sydney. Without Kelly... the magic of Christmas may never happen.
December is the busiest time of the year for our team of merry elves at Good Pair Days! Well, it is also the only time of the year we get to refer to the team as ‘elves’. Kelly is an incredibly valuable team member of Australia's fastest growing wine start-up, with one of the most complex picking and packing systems (hello! we pair every bottle of wine to your individual taste profile!) What that means is, every day, every single coral coloured box sent out is different from one to the next! That’s a lot of wine labels to read!
The incredible Kelly, is one our ‘Lead Elves’ running the warehouse operations in the ‘North Pole of the Southern hemisphere’ - in Sydney. Kelly is dedicated to the mission of Good Pair Days, taking the intimidation and confusion out of learning, exploring and most importantly drinking delicious bottles of wine. Without Kelly... the magic of Christmas may never happen.
Thanks for being apart of our ‘Meet the Maker’ segment, Kelly. Typically we interview ‘Wine Makers’. You’re more of a ‘Wine Packer’... what do you think is the biggest difference here?
The biggest difference? I make wish lists come true. I check that we receive the proper wines from the makers and pack them according to the wish list.
What’s it like working at Santa’s ‘wine’ workshop during the craziest time of the year?
Extremely busy, and extremely exciting. Getting everything ready, getting a list and checking it twice... ensuring it is all good to go. I want Christmas to go nice and smoothly for everybody and for Santa.
OMG Santa... Do you know him?
Of course! How else do you think I get paid for all the hard work I do?
Wow. What do you think of Elf on a Shelf?
What’s that? I am originally from Colombia. We don’t have that in Colombia - we are the real deal.
Do you only use Santa’s sleigh?
Unfortunately not. At times like these when we are super busy, we do recruit the help of Couriers please, Aus post etc... And sometimes things happen that are outside of our control. Keeping the Christmas spirit up for all the elves and the couriers, so the wine gets to our GPD subscribers... this is really my priority as an elf.
What is Santa’s favourite grape variety? Do you know?
I’m not really sure, I should to refer him to subscribe so I get the points! I guess he would enjoy a chilled Rosé, as pink as his cheerful cheeks.
Are any of the Good Pair Days members on the ‘naughty list’?
So far they are all well behaved. Everyone’s on the good list and us elves have packed all of the Christmas wines.
It’s really nice to meet another human that shares our affinity for elf culture. What is your favourite Christmas carol?
Jingle Bells. A classic. We do have a Spanish translation for that one.
