Parri

The Parri label is one with a great story behind it - it marries centuries old Tuscan tradition with some brilliant modern creative thinking from a Australian/Italian family who have been in the wine trade for 3 generations.

The vineyard is located in the heart of Tuscany and the owners have been custodians of their land for generations. They grow pure, healthy grapes and make wine for their friends and family to enjoy.

The local family is the d'Anna's, owners of Hoddle's Creek Winery in the Yarra Valley, and importers of fine Italian wine. Brothers Anthony and Franco d'Anna travel to Italy regularly (tough gig hey?) and have begun a couple of collaborations with wineries they trust to make and bottle wines especially for Australia. The brothers visit the winery to taste, blend and bottle the wines, and then bring them to Australia under the Parri label.

The Kaurna people, traditional owners of the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula used the word “Parri” to describe the rivers, creeks and gullies that surrounded them. This is a reference to the countryside observed in Tuscany when standing in the Vermentino vineyard.

The results are steeped in tradition, but with a modern take. Old vineyards, young minds. The best of both worlds.
