Persian Lamb and Potato Patties
- 500g minced lamb
- 400g mashed potato
- 1 chopped onion, liquid strained away
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp garlic granules
- 75g brown breadcrumbs
- Veg oil, for frying
- In a large bowl, mix together the mince, potatoes, onion, spices and eggs, along with plenty of seasoning. With damp hands, divide the mixture into 20 portions, and roll each into a ball and flatten between your palms until 1 cm thick.
- Press the patties into breadcrumbs on a plate, then shallow fry for 8 mins on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Serve with salad and couscous.
