Seared Tuna Teriyaki and Crispy Noodles Recipe
What you'll need:
- 150g quality tuna steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 50g rice noodles
- 500ml vegetable oil (for frying)
Time: 20 mins
Serves: 1
Method
First
Rub the tuna steaks all over with the tbsp of olive oil, and season really well with salt and pepper. Get your frying pan absolutely banging hot, then sear the tuna steak for just under 2 minutes on each side, until browned.
Second
Pour the soy sauce and honey over the cooking tuna steak, and allow it to caramelise for about 30 seconds. Remove from the heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and put to one side.
Third
Heat up the vegetable oil in a pan or wok until a breadcrumb sizzles and browns when tossed in. Carefully add the rice noodles - they will puff up and cook in a matter of seconds - then remove and leave to drain on some kitchen paper. Serve the tuna on a plate, and the noodles in a bowl alongside.
