Spiced Beef Burger with Onions
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cm piece of ginger, ground to a paste
- 2 chopped garlic cloves
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 800g beef mince
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 3 tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander
- Buns and sauces etc to serve
- Fry the onions in the oil, until softened and golden. Add the ginger, green chilli, and garlic, and continue to cook until everything is soft and slightly coloured. Transfer to a plate to cool.
- Put the mince into a bowl, add your onion mixture and all the remaining ingredients, and mix it well. Shape into 4 patties with damp hands. Heat up your griddle and fry the burgers with a brush of oil - seasoning as you go - until cooked to your liking. Serve in buns with all your favourite sides.
