Swedish-Style Meatball Burgers

  • 500g quality beef mince
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 25g dried breadcrumbs
  • A pinch of grated nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Burger buns, lettuce, and lingonberry jam to serve
  • Tip the beef, egg, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, and garlic into a large bowl, and season liberally. Mix with your hands and shape into 6 patties, then transfer to a plate and chill for an hour.
  • Cook the burgers in a hot griddle pan or on a barbecue for about 10 mins, turning occasionally, until nicely charred. Serve in buns with salad and lingonberry jam, for that authentic Swedish flavour!
