Wild Boar Meatballs

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 600g wild boar mince
  • 4 chopped anchovy fillets
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 50ml single cream
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp grated nutmeg
  • Chopped dill, lingonberry sauce and gravy, to serve
  • Preheat the oven to 200C. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion to soften, then add the garlic and cook for 1 min more. Place all of the ingredients - except the dill, sauce and gravy - into a bowl, and bring together with your hands. Shape into 24 balls, place on a baking tray, and cook for 15 mins. Serve hot with gravy and any mash.
