Blue Cheese Burger with Apple
- 750g minced steak
- 1 lettuce, leaves separated
- 2 green eating apples, sliced
- 120g blue cheese, crumbled
- Olive oil
- Buns and relishes, to serve
- Divide the minced meat into 4 equal portions and with damp hands shape into patties. Pop them on a tray, cover with film, and leave to chill in the fridge for half an hour.
- When you’re ready to cook, preheat a grill to high, and drizzle a frying pan with oil over a medium heat. Fry the burgers for 4 mins on each side (for medium rare), and season as they cook. Halve and toast the buns under the grill, then top the burgers with the cheese and put them under the grill as well until the cheese is oozing nicely. Stuff the burgers into the buns with leaves and apple slices, along with any other relishes or sauces you fancy. Serve straight away with a pile of chips.
