Easy Beef in Oyster Sauce

  • 450g beef fillet, cut into 5cm strips
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp dry sherry
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp veg oil
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • Asian-style salad or rice to serve
  • Toss the beef, sesame oil, soy sauce, sherry and cornstarch into a bowl and mix well. Set aside for 20 mins. When ready, add the oil to a very hot wok and stir-fry the sliced beef for 5 mins to brown all over. Remove the meat from the wok and set aside to drain in a colander. Discard the oil.
  • Add the oyster sauce to a clean wok and bring to a simmer. Return the sliced beef to the wok and mix thoroughly with the sauce, then serve with scattered spring onions and your choice or salad or rice.
