Five-Spice Steak Kebabs
- 800g steak
- Bunch of spring onions, cut into 3cm lengths
- 50g grated ginger
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- Cut the steak into 1cm strips across the grain. Place in a bowl and mix with the spring onions, soy sauce, ginger, five-spice and plenty of black pepper. Leave to marinate for 24 hours in the fridge. When ready to cook, thread the meat onto skewers and alternate with lengths of spring onion.
- Sear the steak skewers over glowing coals for 5-7 mins, turning regularly. When cooked to your liking, serve with chips and all your favourite barbecue sides.
