Ham and Cheese Bake
Ham and Cheese Bake

Ingredients

Method

  • Butter, for greasing
  • 1 baguette
  • 90g sliced ham, torn into pieces
  • 140g gruyere cheese, grated
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ pint milk
  • 284g pot of single cream
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • Grease the bottom of a deep baking dish with the butter, and arrange the torn baguette pieces all over the bottom of the dish. Tuck the ham pieces and grated cheese between the gaps, and toss whatever’s left over the pieces of bread. Whisk together the cream, milk, eggs, and mustard, season well, and pour over the bread, before covering and leaving to chill overnight.
  • Heat the oven to 180C, and bake the dish for 45 minutes until cooked, golden, and bubbling. Serve hot, and enjoy!
