- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1.25 beef steak, diced
- 1 diced onion
- 2 diced garlic cloves
- 4 tsp sweet smoked paprika
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
- 325 jar of sweet red capsicums, sliced
- Soured cream, to serve
- Cooked rice, to serve
- Preheat the oven to 180C. Add the oil to a large casserole and fry the beef in batches to seal, then remove from the pan and set aside. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, then return the meat to the pan and stir in the paprika, cayenne pepper, caraway seeds, salt and pepper and cook for 4 mins.
- Stir the tomatoes and capsicums into the beef mixture and top up with enough water to cover the meat. Bring to a simmer, then place in the oven and cook for 75 mins. Serve with cooked rice and a dollop of soured cream, and share with friends.
