Ingredients
Method
- 225g smoked tofu
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- ¼ tsp Chinese 5-spice powder
- Pinch of smoked paprika
- 300ml veg oil
- For the Satay Sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp lime juice
- 4 tbsp chunky peanut butter
- 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 ¼ tbsp veg oil
- 1 ¼ tbsp sriracha
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- Make the satay dressing by dissolving the sugar in the lime juice, then pouring into a blender with the rest of the ingredients and blending until smooth. Transfer to a dipping bowl.
- Press the liquid out of the tofu by squeezing between sheets of kitchen paper, then cut into 8 cubes. Toss in a mixture of the cornflour, 5-spice and paprika, the sizzle in veg oil for 4-5 mins until golden and crispy. Thread onto skewers, and serve with the sauce for dipping - delicious!
