Soy Butter Rump Steaks
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 2 x 225g rump steaks or similar
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Bearnaise sauce, to serve
- Chips, to serve
- Mix together the garlic and soy sauce in a shallow dish. Add the steaks and coat, then leave to marinate for 15 mins. When ready, pat the steaks dry and rub with the oil and some black pepper. Fry in a banging hot pan for 1 minute on each side to brown.
- Mix the leftover marinade with the melted butter and spoon liberally over the steaks. Flip the steaks over and cook for 30 seconds, then baste again and cook for 30 seconds on the other side. Repeat one more time for medium-rare and caramelised, then remove and rest for 3 mins. Serve with chips, bearnaise sauce and maybe some broccoli if you fancy some greens.
