Ingredients
Method
- 50g bread, crusts removed
- 3 tbsp stout
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 egg yolk
- 600g quality steak mince
- 1 tbsp oil
- ¼ cucumber, thinly sliced
- 6 burger buns
- Lettuce, gherkins etc to serve
- Tear the bread into small chunks and add to a bowl with the stout. Leave to soak for 10 mins, then add the mustard and yolk and mash to combine. Add the mince and season well, then mix with your hands but don’t overwork the mixture. Shape into 6 patties, then place on a lined tray and pop in the fridge for 15 mins.
- When ready, brush the patties with oil and cook on a griddle pan for 5-6 mins on each side, or until cooked through and to your liking. Stuff into buns along with lettuce, cucumber, gherkins and some good quality BBQ sauce, if you fancy.
