Ultimate Tex-Mex Burger
- 500g beef mince
- 1 chopped red onion
- 1 tsp each cayenne pepper and dried oregano
- 4 burger buns, lightly toasted
- 4 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 tbsp chopped fresh tomato
- 1 sliced avocado
- Mix the mince with the cayenne, oregano and the chopped onion, and season liberally with salt and pepper. With damp hands, form into 4 patties and chill in the fridge for 30 mins.
- Preheat the oven to 200C or fire up a barbecue. Cook the burgers for 15 mins, or until done to your liking. Flip halfway through the cooking time. Serve in burger buns with tomato, avocado, and slices of cheese, along with some spicy salsa or whatever else takes your fancy.
