Ingredients

  • 400g tin of chickpeas
  • 300g of cooked mashed sweet potato
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • Pinch of ground cumin, paprika, coriander, and chilli flakes
  • Black pepper
  • 4 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Preheat your oven to 200C. Mash the chickpeas in a bowl, then add the mashed sweet potato, the garlic, and the herbs and spices. Mix well, and add lemon juice, pepper, and more spices to taste.
  • With wet hands, shape the mixture into four burger patties, the sprinkle all over with sesame seeds. Drizzle a baking tray with olive oil, place the patties on a tray (turning them once so they are oiled on either side), then cook for 20-30 minutes.
  • Turn the patties once halfway through cooking, and serve in buns with all your favourite sides, relishes, and sauces etc. Enjoy!
