Casual Kitchen Role
Casual Kitchen Role

We're looking for a casual kitchen hand to join the team at Good Pair Days Surry Hills, as we launch an exciting new menu.

TL;DR

You'll be prepping ingredients, keeping the kitchen organised, and putting together the boards, small plates and new menu items that pair beautifully with what's in the glass, helping create the kind of experience that keeps people coming back.

You don't need to be a wine expert, but you do need to take pride in presentation, be comfortable with prep and plating, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team.

If you're the kind of person who thinks a good cheese board is a legitimate meal, loves getting stuck into prep, and you love the buzz of a busy Saturday night kitchen, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

This isn't your typical kitchen job.

We're launching an exciting new menu, and you'll be part of bringing it to life. Prepping ingredients ahead of service, keeping stock organised, and assembling boards, small plates and new dishes throughout service. You'll work closely with the floor team to keep food moving smoothly alongside the wine. Think share plates, cheese and charcuterie, and beautifully presented food designed to complement a glass of wine. Not a full à la carte menu, but more involved than a simple grazing board.

You'll need to enjoy variety, be comfortable with prep work and kitchen organisation, keep a clean and organised station, and take real pride in how your food looks and tastes.

Above all, you'll help create the welcoming, approachable atmosphere we're known for. A space where great food is just as much a part of the experience as great wine.

Who We Are

Good Pair Days exists to make exceptional wine accessible and enjoyable for everyone, from beginners to enthusiasts.

Through curated selections, personalised recommendations, and innovative technology, we help customers discover wines that excite the senses and expand their wine world.

With the launch of our first physical store and wine bar, we are bringing our unique approach to wine retail into a real space where customers can explore, taste, learn, and connect.

This is not just a shop. It is a bar, a classroom, and a community space.

Who You Are

  • You have experience working in a kitchen - cafe, bar or restaurant experience is great.
  • You're comfortable with food prep and plating, and enjoy the organisation that goes with it.
  • You take pride in presentation and attention to detail; you know a board should look as good as it tastes.
  • You're comfortable working efficiently during busy evenings and weekend service.
  • You have a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • You have great communication skills and enjoy working with a close knit team.
  • You're keen to learn a new menu and grow with it as we roll it out.
  • You're always keen to keep learning, including picking up a bit of wine and food pairing knowledge along the way.

You'll Love This Role If...

  • You think a good cheese board is a legitimate meal.
  • You're excited by the idea of helping launch a brand new menu.
  • You're looking for flexible, casual shifts in a fun, relaxed environment.
  • You want to work somewhere your food is appreciated as much as the wine it's served alongside.

If you take pride in prepping and presenting great food, and want to help launch our new menu at one of Sydney's most exciting neighbourhood wine bars, we'd love to hear from you.
