Through curated selections, personalised recommendations, and innovative technology, we help customers discover wines that excite the senses and expand their wine world.

With the launch of our first physical store and wine bar, we are bringing our unique approach to wine retail into a real space where customers can explore, taste, learn, and connect.

This is not just a shop. It is a bar, a classroom, and a community space.

About the Role

As a Wine Bar & Retail Associate, you will be at the heart of our in-store and bar hospitality experience.

Your focus will be delivering warm, knowledgeable, and confident service across both the wine bar and retail floor. You will guide tastings, make thoughtful recommendations, and help create an environment that feels expert yet approachable.

This is a hands-on hospitality role. You will be expected to engage customers naturally, manage busy bar moments calmly, and maintain high standards across service and presentation.

What You’ll Do

Bar Hospitality

• Welcome guests warmly and confidently
• Serve wines by the glass and manage bar service with professionalism
• Guide customers through tastings and flights
• Share stories about producers, regions, and styles in an engaging way
• Maintain a polished, organised, and inviting bar environment
• Support smooth service during busy periods

Wine & Customer Experience

• Provide thoughtful, personalised wine recommendations
• Help customers choose wines for different occasions and preferences
• Deliver informal wine education in a relaxed, accessible way
• Create a space where beginners feel comfortable and enthusiasts feel respected

Retail & Membership

• Assist customers with retail purchases and wine selections
• Process sales, subscriptions, and online order pickups through our POS system
• Confidently explain Good Pair Days membership and subscription offerings
• Help bridge the online and in-store experience

Store Operations

• Support opening and closing procedures
• Assist with stock management, deliveries, and merchandising
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Step in wherever needed to keep the store running smoothly

Who You Are

• Passionate about wine and hospitality
• WSET Level 2 preferred, or equivalent practical wine knowledge
• Experienced in bar, hospitality, or customer-facing environments
• Warm, confident, and comfortable leading conversations
• Calm under pressure and organised during busy service
• Detail-oriented and proud of maintaining high standards
• Comfortable using POS systems and basic technology
• A team player who enjoys being on the floor

This Role Is Not For You If

• You prefer working behind the scenes rather than engaging with guests
• You are uncomfortable talking confidently about wine
• You do not enjoy busy service environments
• You are looking for a low-engagement retail role
• You are not interested in continuing to build your wine knowledge

Role Details

Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience
