Beef and Shiitake Stir Fry

Ingredients

Method

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 300g beef shoulder steak, thinly sliced
  • 10g ginger, grated
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 100g shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 100g cabbage, sliced
  • 50g red onion, sliced
  • 50g mange tout
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 lime, juice only
  • Soy sauce and salt to taste
  • Heat the sesame oil in a wok, and toss in the beef strips, stir-frying for 2 minutes until coloured all over. Add the garlic and ginger, then the vegetables, and stir fry for another minute or two.
  • Once the beef is cooked to your liking, add the lime juice, 5 spice, and sesame seeds, mix well, and remove from the heat. Serve seasoned with soy sauce or salt, and enjoy.
