Ingredients

Method

  • 500g cooked grated beetroot
  • 225g paneer, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp chopped chillies
  • 2 tsp salt flakes
  • Handful of chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsp gram flour
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds, pounded
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Veg oil, for frying
  • Add the beetroot, chillies, and ginger to a pan, and fry over a medium heat until the excess moisture has evaporated. Drain in a sieve and transfer to a mixing bowl to slightly cool. Add all of the remaining ingredients, except the oil, and mix well.
  • Once cooled, shape the mixture into 8 patties. Heat a drizzle of oil, and cook for 5-7 mins on each side, or until a nice crust has formed. Serve in buns with salad, raita, and chutney. Yum!
