Ingredients
Method
- 150g self-raising flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp sweet paprika
- ½ tsp oregano
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 175ml lager or pilsner beer
- 2 onions, cut into 1cm rings
- Veg oil for deep frying
- Salt and pepper
- Preheat a deep fat fryer or large pan with oil at approximately 180C (or sizzling temperature). Mix together the batter ingredients and coat each onion ring well. Deep fry for 2 minutes, or until puffed up and golden. Drain on kitchen paper, and serve as a side with burgers or anything else you fancy!
