Fried Goat’s Cheese



  • 100g seasoned flour
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 100g panko breadcrumbs
  • 200g goat’s cheese log
  • Watercress, to serve
  • Red onion or apple chutney, to serve
  • Sliced baguette or crackers, to serve
  • Preheat a deep fat fryer to 180 or half fill a saucepan with oil and heat to sizzling temperature. Place the flour, breadcrumbs and egg in separate shallow bowls.
  • Dust the cheese log in the flour, then dip in the egg and finally roll in the breadcrumbs until well coated. Chill the log in the freezer for 15 mins, then carefully add the cheese to the hot oil and fry until golden, crisp and hot through. Drain on kitchen paper, then serve hot with watercress, chutneys and bread or crackers.
