We are seeking a passionate and experienced Wine Store & Bar Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of our first physical store.

We’re now launching our first-ever physical store and wine bar—a game-changing space that blends curated wine selections, gourmet experiences, and personalised service with the digital innovation our members know and love.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Wine Store & Bar Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of our first physical store. With the potential to then lead our physical expansion plans across Australia and the Globe. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of omni-channel retail at Good Pair Days and create a destination for wine enthusiasts that’s as remarkable as our online experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Store & Bar Operations: Oversee all aspects of service, sales, operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and day-to-day logistics. Ensure compliance with alcohol licensing, food safety regulations, and company policies. Develop and implement processes to integrate in-store and online experiences seamlessly. Weekends and nights as required based on staffing.
  • Customer Experience & Service: Deliver an exceptional in-store experience that reflects the Good Pair Days brand. Leverage customer profiles and technology to provide personalised wine recommendations. Host and manage in-store events, including tastings, workshops, and wine education sessions.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a team of passionate wine professionals and customer service staff. Foster a collaborative, customer-first culture and ensure staff are knowledgeable about wine and the Good Pair Days ethos. Provide ongoing coaching and support to achieve team and individual performance goals.
  • Sales & Revenue: Drive in-store sales and subscription sign-ups, meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding customer engagement through the loyalty program.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with local businesses, wine producers, and community groups to drive foot traffic and brand awareness. Act as the face of Good Pair Days, hosting events and cultivating a sense of community in the store.
  • Reporting & Strategy: Track and report on KPIs, including sales, customer satisfaction, subscription conversions, and event attendance. Collaborate with the leadership team to refine the store concept and contribute to the long-term retail strategy.

Who’s a Good Fit

  • A Wine Enthusiast: You have a deep passion for wine and at least a WSET Level 2 (or equivalent) certification.
  • Experienced in Retail and Hospitality: You bring 3+ years of experience managing restaurants, wine bars, or similar customer-focused environments. Retail experience a plus but hospitality is our preference.
  • Customer-Centric: You have a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Innovative and Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable using technology to enhance the customer journey and integrating digital tools into operations.
  • A Strong Leader: You excel at building and leading high-performing teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Results-Driven: You are motivated by hitting targets and continuously improving operations to drive success.
